We are called to radical obedience. We are called to radical love. We are called to nothing else but God. Radical obedience does not seek to comply with the minimal standards but pursues extravagant, lavish fulfilment, abandoning oneself to every word of Jesus.

It’s not about keeping the law. It’s about being in a love relationship with Jesus. A natural overflow of loving Jesus is living and doing His commands.

Works of service gain their fulfilment when overflowing from a love relationship at Jesus' feet. The true fulfilment of serving Jesus is discovered when we get first things first: we sit and listen and fall in love, then we go and do.
