Title:Courageous Leadership

The need to be childlike

Speaker: Colin Boyd

Notes

Scriptures, Matt 11:25, 19:13 & 18:3. Typical children were listening to Jesus. Typical children are not perfect.

Differences between "childish" and "childlike". (1 Cor.13:11)

Examples of childlike qualities:

  • Vision for something different and better in their futures.

  • Seeing the good in others. Appreciation is more upbuilding than criticism.

  • Energy and enthusiasm.

  • Questioning and wanting to know more of what is good. Remaining teachable.

  • Humility, trust, dependence & unconditional love.

Application

Some (many) aspects of childhood need to be left behind. What do you think that these could be?

Are there other childlike qualities that I could have included in my analysis?

Have you ever seen situations where appreciation made all the difference?

Did you have any particular childish fears? Did growing up or/and becoming a Christian help to deal with those fears?
